Today President Serzh Sargsyan sent a letter of condolences to the President of Georgia Mikhail Sahakashvili. The letter states:
“On behalf of the people of Armenia and my own behalf I express our sincere condolences on the occasion of numerous victims which resulted from the recent events in Georgia. Please pass our sincere sorrow and consideration to the families and friends of the victims.
We call upon a speedy restoration of peace and stability in the neighboring Georgia which are an important component of regional security.
Armenia stands ready to provide necessary humanitarian assistance to the victims and address all the relevant issues in an immediate manner.”
