President Vahagn Khachaturyan’s Message on the occasion of the National Assembly Elections

Dear Compatriots,

With the National Assembly elections, Armenia is entering a new stage of political development. These elections were another test of our democratic culture, state-building process, public responsibility, and the maturity of our state institutions.

The results, formed through the free expression of the citizens’ will, constitute the legal and moral foundation upon which the legitimacy of state authority rests.

I extend my profound gratitude to all citizens of the Republic of Armenia who, through their participation, reaffirmed that democracy is the irreversible choice of our state.

I also express my appreciation to all individuals and institutions involved in organizing the electoral process and ensuring its legality and transparency, as well as to local and international observer missions and the media.

In a democratic system, elections are not the end of the political process but the beginning of a new and greater responsibility.

Ideological and programmatic competition is the driving force of democracy, and following the elections, our common guiding principle should be one overarching objective: the national and state interests of the Republic of Armenia.

I congratulate the Civil Contract Party on earning the confidence of the citizens and securing a parliamentary majority. The election results represent a public assessment of the work carried out during the previous period, as well as a political mandate to implement the presented programs and advance the country’s future development.

I also congratulate the political forces that have earned the right to be represented in the National Assembly. The mandates they have received constitute a delegation of responsibility to participate in the governance of the country.

The National Assembly is a platform for statesmanship, constructive dialogue, and a high political culture. The contemporary challenges facing our state require strategic foresight and unity.

I wish you steadfast and productive work for the strengthening of the Republic of Armenia and the well-being of our people.
