The New Year Message of the President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan
Dear compatriots,
The year is drawing to a close, and we are standing on the threshold of a new year—2026. This moment is a good opportunity not only to congratulate one another, but also to look back once again at the path we have traveled, to assess our achievements, and to realize the work that still lies ahead.
The outgoing year was not easy for us. We faced numerous challenges and had shortcomings and difficulties that we must honestly acknowledge. At the same time, however, it was also a year in which our state and people were able to record important achievements, strengthen state institutions, and continue along the path of development.
The year 2025 will remain in our modern history as an important step forward. The agreement signed on August 8 was a step toward peace.
It was not a simple document, but a responsible decision aimed at the secure future of our country, regional stability, and the opportunity of a peaceful life for our citizens.
Peace is not an easy path, but it is the path we are obliged to continue with patience, vigilance, and unity.
In the coming year, Armenia will host a number of important international events. These represent a great opportunity for our country to present Armenia to the world, enhance our state’s reputation, and strengthen international cooperation.
The successful organization of these events depends on the responsibility of all of us—from state bodies to every individual citizen. Through united efforts, we can carry out this mission with dignity.
The year 2026 will also be important for domestic political life. The upcoming parliamentary elections are another test on the path toward strengthening our democracy.
Holding free, fair, and credible elections is vital for the stability of our state, the expression of the people’s will, and confidence in the future.
Dear citizens,
The New Year brings new hopes, expectations, and responsibilities. May 2026 be a year of peace, solidarity, and constructive work. May the differences not divide us but rather strengthen us as a democratic and mature society.
I congratulate all of us on the New Year. I wish you health, family warmth, faith in tomorrow, and the strength to move forward together.
Happy New Year and Merry Christmas.
