President Vahagn Khachaturyan’s message

Dear people,

Esteemed compatriots,

On September 27, 2020, Azerbaijan’s offensive military actions unleashed the 44-day war, abolishing the efforts that our partner countries and international institutions had put for years in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict peacefully, through negotiations and without use of force.

Two years ago this day, our people faced another challenge, and once again, our armed forces, volunteers, doctors and citizens had to go to the battlefields to protect the inalienable rights of our compatriots in Artsakh to live and work in their homeland.

The 44-day war was an existential challenge for Armenia and Artsakh, full of irreparable losses.

I convey my deepest condolences and support to the relatives of our devotees who fell on the battlefields. I bow to their memory.

Today, in these tough times full of challenges, our duty is to properly value the sacrifice of our martyrs and realize that they fell for life, for our people’s unquestionable right to live, and peace, for which we are still fighting now.

I wish all of us strength and endurance, for the sake of our independence and freedom.
