President Sarkissian sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of Artsakh Independence Day

Dear Compatriots,

The historic document adopted in 1991 declared the establishment of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic. The period of over a quarter of the century has been a period full of trials, victories and statebuilding. Throughout this time, you have always been guarded and inspired by the will to live free, to fight, and to win; it has turned a Pan-Armenian dream into a reality.

The Declaration of Artsakh’s Independence laid the foundation for statebuilding. In today’s festive atmosphere, we remember with gratitude those who formed it, who built statehood, who sacrificed their health and life for it.

Thinking about them and paying them tribute, honoring them, we feel the message that reaches us through the time, the message addressed to Artsakh’s present citizens, present soldiers, to our entire nation to defend and empower the country, the state, to be a united Armenia, Artsakh and Spyurk.

The best proof of that unity is today’s independent Republic of Artsakh which is moving steadfastly on the road of freedom and democracy, registering new success in the process of statebuilding.

I send my congratulations on the occasion of All-Armenian holiday – the 27th anniversary of Artsakh’s independence and wish peace, prosperity and unwavering trust towards the future.
