President Serzh Sargsyan’s Address to the Golden Apricot International Movie Festival

I cordially salute the organizers, participants, and guests of the Golden Apricot International Movie Festival.

It is delightful that for the 13th time the capital of Armenia becomes the center of such an important cultural event. It would be remiss to talk about the role and significance of cinema in the contemporary world; however it would also be remiss not mention once again our devotion to the powerful cultural and enlightening wave which is called the world cinema. It is also worth repeating our devotion to the Armenian cinema art and its traditions since movies are a serious impetus and a component of the social renewal, re-evaluation of values, and modernization.

The Golden Apricot is a unique window to the world not only for the Armenian spectators but also for the professionals. Culturally and spiritually it is also an efficient way to acquire new experience, knowledge, esthetics, and arts. This is the greatest mission and import of the Golden Apricot.

I once again salute the 13th Golden Apricot International Movie Festival and wish success and crowded auditoriums. To the participants and guests, I wish unforgettable impressions.
