President Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador of Norway to Armenia, Bergljot Hovland

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Norway to Armenia, Bergljot Hovland, on the occasion of the completion of her diplomatic mission.

Welcoming the Ambassador, President Khachaturyan thanked her for her contribution to the development and strengthening of relations between Armenia and Norway.

The President emphasized that the progress achieved in Armenian-Norwegian relations in recent years has created new opportunities for expanding cooperation across various fields. In this context, he particularly highlighted the importance of enhancing economic cooperation, as well as developing collaboration in trade, high technologies, artificial intelligence, and other areas.

For her part, Ambassador Hovland highly appreciated the expanding agenda of cooperation between Armenia and Norway, highlighting collaboration in the fields of culture and youth affairs, as well as the importance of Armenian-Norwegian partnership within the framework of COP17. She also underscored the significance of the Armenia–Nordic–Baltic cooperation format.

The Ambassador welcomed the recent parliamentary elections held in Armenia, noting that their results reaffirm the Armenian people’s commitment to peace, democracy, and the reform agenda. She reiterated Norway’s support for Armenia’s democratic reform process.

The interlocutors exchanged views on issues related to the bilateral cooperation agenda, as well as regional developments.

At the conclusion of the meeting, President Vahagn Khachaturyan once again thanked Ambassador Bergljot Hovland for the effective cooperation and wished her success in her future endeavors.
