President Vahagn Khachaturyan held Farewell Meeting with Hungary’s Ambassador to Armenia, Anna Maria Sikó

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Armenia, Anna Maria Sikó, on the occasion of the completion of her diplomatic mission.

President Khachaturyan thanked the Ambassador for her efforts during her tenure to strengthen relations between Armenia and Hungary and expand bilateral cooperation, wishing her success in her future endeavors.

Ambassador Anna Maria Sikó thanked the President of the Republic for the meeting and highly appreciated the cooperation and support extended by Armenia’s state institutions throughout her diplomatic mission. She expressed confidence that the strong foundation of mutual trust and partnership established during her tenure would further contribute to the development and expansion of cooperation between Armenia and Hungary.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the key priorities of the Armenia–Hungary bilateral agenda and the prospects for further developing bilateral relations. Both sides emphasized the considerable potential for deepening economic cooperation, enhancing trade and economic ties, promoting investment projects, and expanding direct contacts between the business communities of the two countries.

The sides also highlighted the importance of continuing cooperation in the fields of education, culture, and tourism, stressing the value of implementing joint initiatives, expanding academic and cultural exchanges, and strengthening people-to-people ties.

The importance of increasing mutual visits at various levels was also discussed, with both sides noting that such exchanges serve as an effective means of deepening political dialogue and identifying new areas of cooperation.

During the meeting, the activities of Wizz Air in Armenia were also acknowledged, with the airline recognized for its significant role in expanding air connectivity between Armenia and several European destinations, boosting tourism flows, and fostering people-to-people contacts and business relations.

The interlocutors also exchanged views on regional developments. President Khachaturyan reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to establishing lasting peace in the region, normalizing relations with its neighbors, and advancing the process of unblocking regional transport and communication routes. He emphasized that these efforts could contribute to the region’s economic development, strengthen connectivity, and ensure long-term stability.

The sides also discussed cooperation within international organizations, highlighting the importance of enhancing interaction within the framework of the European Union, while emphasizing the continued development of democratic institutions, effective governance, and the exchange of best practices.
