President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received Omran Anwar Sharaf, UAE Assistant Foreign Minister for Advanced Science and Technology.
Welcoming the guest at the Presidential Residence, the President asked him to convey his warm greetings to President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Prime Minister Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He also expressed satisfaction with the guest’s participation in the Yerevan Dialogue event, emphasizing the UAE’s representation at the forum.
Omran Anwar Sharaf thanked the President for the reception and conveyed the warm greetings of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He also expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality.
The sides emphasized that the United Arab Emirates is one of Armenia’s important partners in the Middle East and Gulf region. It was noted that cooperation between the two countries has been steadily expanding across various fields of mutual interest.
The President highlighted the importance of active cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats, noting with satisfaction the participation of delegations from both countries in international events held in Armenia and the UAE, as well as the involvement of Armenian representatives in international expos and sectoral platforms organized in the UAE.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the current development of bilateral relations, emphasizing the effective cooperation established in recent years and the ongoing trends toward its expansion in various sectors.
Particular attention was given to opportunities for deepening cooperation in the digital sphere, especially in the development of artificial intelligence, data management, the introduction of innovative technologies, and the promotion of scientific research initiatives. The importance of developing digital infrastructure, applying “smart” solutions, and exchanging expertise aimed at increasing economic competitiveness was also underscored. At the same time, the participants highlighted the effective realization of existing cooperation potential in infrastructure and communications as an important direction for further strengthening bilateral relations.
