President Vahagn Khachaturyan received Kevin Hamilton, the NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received Kevin Hamilton, the NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia.

Congratulating the Special Representative on his appointment, the President highly appreciated the continued development of Armenia–NATO relations.

“I am pleased to note that Armenia and NATO have truly managed to create a solid foundation for an even stronger partnership. We maintain quite an active dialogue and cooperation with NATO and allied countries, and I hope that during Your tenure we will further expand our joint initiatives and programs,” the President of the Republic stated.

Expressing gratitude for the reception and warm remarks, Kevin Hamilton noted that he would make greater efforts toward the development of Armenia–NATO cooperation, as well as toward strengthening stability and security in the region.

During the meeting, the sides discussed opportunities for effective cooperation in various formats, emphasizing the positive dynamics of high-level political dialogue.

They exchanged views on the importance of combining efforts to protect democracy and democratic values, stressing the significance of joint work in the areas of institutional development, strengthening the rule of law, and enhancing governance transparency. In this context, the importance of exchanging best practices and continuously developing relevant programs was also highlighted.

The President emphasized that Armenia’s close cooperation with individual NATO member states continues to expand, encompassing political, defense, and military spheres alike. According to him, this cooperation plays an important role in developing the country’s capacities, advancing reforms, and strengthening regional security.

The sides reaffirmed their mutual readiness to continue constructive dialogue and develop the partnership aimed at fostering peace, stability, and a secure environment in the region.
