President Vahagn Khachatryan received Estonia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Margus Tsahkna
The President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachatryan, received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, Margus Tsahkna.
President Khachatryan welcomed Margus Tsahkna and the delegation led by him, noting with satisfaction that Armenian–Estonian relations, based on shared democratic values, continue to develop dynamically. Referring to the official opening of Estonia’s resident embassy in Yerevan, the President emphasized the importance of this event, assessing it as a significant step toward further development of bilateral relations.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia expressed gratitude for the warm reception, emphasizing that the opening of an embassy in friendly Armenia is an important step toward deepening bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the sides thoroughly addressed a wide range of issues related to the close cooperation established between the two countries, based on mutual trust, both in terms of the development of bilateral relations and the deepening of cooperation within international frameworks.
A number of areas of mutual interest were discussed, including opportunities to expand cooperation in the fields of high technologies, digitalization, innovation, as well as the introduction of modern governance tools, emphasizing the potential for applying Estonia’s experience in these fields in Armenia.
The sides particularly emphasized the importance of developing cooperation within the European Union framework, considering it an effective and promising direction for implementing joint initiatives. It was noted that Armenia has consistently felt Estonia’s support and constructive involvement, especially in processes related to European integration, which has made a significant contribution to deepening bilateral relations and developing institutional capacities.
During the meeting, the friendly nature of relations between the two countries and peoples was reaffirmed, based on shared values, democratic principles, and mutual respect.
The sides highlighted the importance of the continued expansion and deepening of ties between the two countries, emphasizing that the opening of Estonia’s resident embassy in Yerevan is an important step in this direction. It was noted that this will provide new impetus to political dialogue, activate practical cooperation in various fields, and significantly contribute to strengthening mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples.
