President Vahagn Khachaturyan received the delegation of the Belgium–Armenia Friendship Group

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received a delegation led by Els Van Hoof, head of the Belgium–Armenia Friendship Group of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Belgium.

The President welcomed the guests and emphasized the importance of such visits in the context of the continuous development and deepening of bilateral relations.

“Your visit is evidence of our friendship and close cooperation. That friendship and cooperation are becoming stronger and expanding because they have an ideological foundation. This refers to democracy, human rights, and the rule of law. Particularly in recent years, we have recorded achievements in strengthening these values. In this context, our cooperation and your support are also very important,” President Khachaturyan noted.

According to the President, within the framework of interparliamentary cooperation, the role and active collaboration of the friendship groups of the two countries’ parliaments are of particular importance. He expressed confidence that this latest visit would create new opportunities and ideas for the development of both political and economic relations.

The head of the delegation, Els Van Hoof, expressed gratitude for the reception and reaffirmed Belgium’s commitment to promoting the development of Armenia–Belgium cooperation based on shared democratic values and mutual respect.

During the meeting, reference was also made to the upcoming European Political Community Summit to be held in Armenia, as well as the European Union–Armenia Summit. Both sides highlighted the importance of such high-level events for deepening international cooperation, enhancing political dialogue, and strengthening regional stability.

The sides also exchanged views on democratic reforms and the promotion of their values, emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation in this direction. It was stressed that Armenia is steadily moving along the path of democratic development, consistently strengthening democratic institutions and ensuring the protection of fundamental freedoms.
