President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received Hakob Hakobyan, the founder of the Startup Armenia Foundation and the Sevan Startup Summit initiative.
During the meeting, issues related to the organizational preparations for the Sevan Startup Summit 2026, as well as the expansion of the initiative’s activities, were discussed.
The importance of such platforms was emphasized in terms of developing the startup ecosystem, promoting innovative technologies, and implementing innovative solutions. During the conversation, the educational significance of the Sevan Startup Summit was highlighted, especially for young people and adolescents, as an effective platform for knowledge transfer, the development of new skills, and the fostering of entrepreneurial thinking.
Reference was also made to the COP-17 conference to be held in Armenia in 2026, including possible forms of support of the Sevan Startup Summit within that framework, formats of cooperation, and ways to involve innovative solutions.
During the discussion, Hakob Hakobyan presented the initiative’s long-term sectoral and investment programs, directions of innovative development, as well as his vision and approaches regarding the concept of building a new smart city, emphasizing the importance of new technological solutions in the context of creating a future-oriented and sustainable environment.
The President underscored the importance of the continuous and institutional development of innovative initiatives, highlighting their significance for the country’s technological progress, increased competitiveness, and sustainable development.
The President paid special attention to the role of the educational component, noting that such initiatives serve as important platforms for the educational engagement of young people and adolescents, the formation of knowledge-based thinking, as well as the identification and development of innovative ideas. In this context, the importance of deepening cooperation between the public and private sectors was emphasized, with the aim of ensuring long-term results.
