President Vahagn Khachaturyan received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of Burundi to Armenia

The President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan, received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Burundi to the Republic of Armenia, Ernest Ndabashinze (residence: Rome).

Congratulating the Ambassador on assuming his responsible position, the President expressed hope that his activities would contribute to the strengthening of Armenia–Burundi relations and the implementation of new initiatives.

Ambassador Ndabashinze, thanking the President for the reception, noted that it was a great honor for him to represent his country in Armenia and that he would make every effort to intensify cooperation.

During the meeting, the President of the Republic particularly emphasized the importance of expanding and deepening relations with African countries, stressing that Armenia is consistently taking active steps in this direction through political consultations and other formats.

The sides also discussed opportunities for cooperation in the fields of tourism, education, and technology, particularly in the context of interaction within various educational platforms and centers.

They exchanged views on the general regional situation and developments. Preparations for the 2026 UN Biodiversity Conference (COP-17), to be held in Armenia, were also discussed. In this context, both sides highlighted that in order to effectively address the challenges arising from climate change and human activity, it is necessary to consolidate joint efforts at the global level.
