President Vahagn Khachaturyan received UN World Tourism Organization Secretary-General Sheikha Nasser Al-Nuaimi

President Vahagn Khachaturyan today received the Secretary-General of the UN World Tourism Organization, Sheikha Nasser Al-Nuaimi.

The President welcomed the guest and congratulated her on being elected to the high position, expressing hope that cooperation between the organization and Armenia would continue and actively develop.

Sheikha Nasser Al-Nuaimi, in turn, expressed gratitude for the reception and the well wishes, noting that this is her first visit to the region, and she chose Armenia as her first destination. She emphasized that she was impressed by Armenia’s natural beauty, the pace of development in the tourism sector, Armenian cuisine, and also pointed out the great potential that exists in the country for developing various tourism directions.

During the meeting, the sides discussed opportunities for the development of wellness, medical, and sports tourism, and expressed their readiness to undertake joint steps to deepen cooperation between the organization and Armenia and to develop tourism infrastructure.
