President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico, who is in Armenia on an official visit.

Welcoming the guest, President Vahagn Khachaturyan specifically stated:

“I welcome You to the Republic of Armenia. I am pleased about this opportunity. We haven’t had a bilateral visit of this level for about 20 years, and in that regard, Your visit is of particular significance. Armenia has close cooperation with the European Union, and within the framework of that cooperation, we highly value Slovakia’s participation. I would like to express my gratitude for the continuous support provided by Slovakia. This refers both to the presence of the EU monitoring mission in Armenia and to all the initiatives we are cooperating on with the EU. Slovakia’s support is always significant, and I am confident that Your visit will give new impetus to our partnership.”

In turn, the Prime Minister of Slovakia expressed gratitude for the reception and said:

“We highly appreciate Your warm hospitality. We are confident that this visit to Your beautiful country will be a success, and we once again want to express our gratitude for this opportunity.”

The Prime Minister of Slovakia presented to the President of the Republic the results of the productive talks he had the previous day with the Prime Minister of Armenia, highlighting the prospects for expanding cooperation and developing bilateral relations.

In his remarks, the President of the Republic emphasized the importance of high-level reciprocal visits and interactions, stressing that such visits not only strengthen the partnership between the two countries but also contribute to expanding cooperation at various levels, particularly among business circles.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to promoting cooperation between Armenia and Slovakia. They addressed opportunities for the full realization of the existing collaborative potential in sectors such as energy, defense, tourism, and others.

The sides also exchanged views on the opportunity of establishing direct flights between Bratislava and Yerevan, considering it a tool to deepen bilateral ties.

During the conversation, the Prime Minister of Slovakia and the President of Armenia also touched on regional developments and the current situation. In this context, the President of the Republic reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to achieving lasting and sustainable peace. He noted that the Armenian Government’s “Crossroads of Peace” project is aimed at achieving that goal. In turn, the Prime Minister of Slovakia emphasized that Slovakia fully supports Armenia’s efforts directed toward establishing peace.
