President Vahagn Khachaturyan met with the President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier
The President of the Republic of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan, held a meeting at the Presidential Residence with the President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who arrived in Armenia on an official visit.
The two presidents first had a private conversation, followed by an expanded meeting with the delegations of both countries.
During the meeting, a wide range of issues related to the expansion and deepening of multi-sectoral cooperation between the two countries were discussed. Both sides emphasized the importance of organizing cooperation more effectively, both bilaterally and within the framework of the European Union, with special attention to strengthening relations in the fields of economy, education, culture, and science.
The importance of implementing joint programs in the energy sector was also highlighted during the meeting, with the goal of creating new prospects and strengthening partnership ties.
Both sides expressed their willingness to continue joint efforts based on constructive dialogue, mutually beneficial initiatives, and strong cooperation.
At the end of the meetings, agreements were signed between the two countries. Specifically, an “Agreement on Financial Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany” was signed by Armenia’s Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan, and Germany’s Ambassador to Armenia, Claudia Busch.
Additionally, an agreement on “Implementing a Cultural Year between Yerevan and Leipzig” was signed by the Mayor of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan, and the Mayor of Leipzig, Burkhard Jung.
