President Vahagn Khachaturyan received credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador of Montenegro to Armenia

The President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan, received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Montenegro to Armenia, Boryanka Simicevic.

The President congratulated the newly appointed ambassador and expressed hope that her work would contribute to further expanding cooperation between the two countries, covering new areas.

“Our relations with Montenegro hold special significance for us, also due to our historical past. At the same time, there is significant untapped potential for cooperation between our countries,” the President stated.

Ambassador Simicevic expressed gratitude for the reception. “I fully agree with You—since the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries, we have been dedicated to expanding our cooperation and have made some significant steps in that direction. However, there is still considerable untapped potential to further broaden the scope of our collaboration,” the ambassador noted and assured that she would make all necessary efforts.

During the meeting, the sides discussed opportunities to promote cooperation in areas of mutual interest. From the perspective of strengthening bilateral relations, they emphasized the importance of intensifying high-level reciprocal visits as well as advancing parliamentary diplomacy.

Both sides highlighted the need to initiate steps to realize the existing cooperation potential in education, tourism, high technology, and other fields.

Views were exchanged on the current regional situation and developments. In this context, the President of the Republic particularly emphasized Armenia’s principled position on achieving lasting peace.
