President Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Armenia, Muhammetgeldi Ayazov

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Armenia, Muhammetgeldi Ayazov.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ambassador Ayazov conveyed to the President of the Republic an invitation from the Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty (People’s Council), Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, to participate in a conference in Ashgabat this December, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the UN General Assembly resolution on Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality, under the theme “International Year of Peace and Trust.”

The ambassador then addressed the deepening of bilateral relations, regional cooperation, and the expansion of economic ties, emphasizing the importance of the upcoming 10th session of the Armenian-Turkmen Intergovernmental Joint Commission, which will be held in Yerevan this month, in advancing the bilateral agenda.

President Khachaturyan, expressing gratitude for the invitation, stressed the necessity of strengthening the friendly and constructive cooperation between the two countries. He also noted that Armenia highly values its political dialogue with Turkmenistan and underscored the importance of the economic component of bilateral relations.
