President of the Republic received Ambassador of India to Armenia

Today, President Vahagn Khachaturyan received India’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia, Nilakshi Saha Sinha, on the occasion of India’s National Day, Republic Day.

The President congratulated the Ambassador and the people of India on their national holiday, wishing them peace and prosperity.

“I am pleased to congratulate You on India’s National Day, Republic Day. Armenian-Indian relations have a centuries-old history, and building on this foundation, ties between Armenia and India were established after our independence. Today, these relations continue to develop in all directions. Cooperation with India is one of the priority areas of Armenia’s foreign policy,” noted the President.

“Thank You for this opportunity to meet and for Your kind wishes. Indeed, the cooperation between our countries is growing and has significant potential for development,” said the Ambassador in her remarks.

During the meeting, the current state and future prospects of the multifaceted Armenian-Indian relations were discussed. Special attention was paid to expanding collaboration in high technologies, education, defense, and other areas.

President Khachaturyan reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to establishing lasting peace in the region and emphasized the country’s clear position on the matter.

The importance of joint efforts to enhance trade and economic relations between Armenia and India was underscored during the meeting.

Both sides also expressed their readiness to further promote connections between the business communities of the two countries through the organization of joint business forums and other formats.

The interlocutors highlighted the need for the further development and deepening of bilateral relations in the interests of the two friendly nations.
