President of the Republic received the heads of Parliaments of Northern Europe-Baltic countries
President Vahagn Khachaturyan today received the delegation of parliamentary presidents and vice-presidents from the Northern Europe-Baltic countries cooperation format.
Welcoming the guests at the beginning of the meeting, the President emphasized that the delegation’s visit to Armenia provides an excellent opportunity to gain firsthand insight into the country, the democratic reform processes underway, and the prospects for developing inter-parliamentary cooperation.
President Khachaturyan noted that Armenia places great importance on expanding collaboration with Northern Europe and the Baltic states, highlighting that strengthening the partnership with the EU is a key direction of Armenia’s foreign policy.
The President expressed his high appreciation for the steadfast support of EU countries, particularly the Northern European and Baltic states, for Armenia’s reform agenda and efforts to establish democracy in the country.
The delegation members thanked President Khachaturyan for the warm reception, reaffirmed their full support for strengthening the Armenia-EU partnership, and expressed their readiness to assist in Armenia’s ongoing reform efforts. They also emphasized their commitment to supporting Armenia in its process of rapprochement with the EU.
The President also touched on the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process, the normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations, and the issue of unblocking regional transportation routes. The delegation of speakers expressed its firm support for Armenia’s peace-oriented efforts.
