President Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador of Italy to Armenia, Alfonso Di Riso
President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Armenia, Alfonso Di Riso, who is completing his diplomatic mission in our country.
Welcoming the Ambassador, the President highly appreciated his efforts aimed at strengthening and developing Armenian-Italian relations and the friendship between the two nations.
“I thank You for Your diplomatic service. During your three years of activity, You have managed to bring new energy to Armenian-Italian relations, which has been very important for Armenia during this challenging period. This applies to both bilateral relations and Armenia-EU cooperation. Your work has undoubtedly contributed to strengthening the friendship between our two nations,” the President said, wishing Ambassador Alfonso Di Riso success in his future endeavors.
The Ambassador expressed gratitude for the warm welcome.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the further development of close cooperation between Armenia and Italy. Both sides highly valued the effective collaboration between the two countries, both bilaterally and within international platforms.
The conversation also touched upon the regional situation and developments in the South Caucasus. In this context, the President emphasized that Armenia remains committed to establishing good-neighborly relations with its neighbors and achieving lasting peace in the region. They also exchanged views on the role of the EU’s civilian monitoring mission in reducing tensions on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
The sides underscored the importance of deepening cultural cooperation between the two countries, including joint programs, exhibitions, and cultural exchanges that reflect the rich historical and cultural heritage of both nations.
