President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received a delegation led by Luc Carvounas, the Mayor of Alfortville, France.

Alfortville is one of the French cities with a significant Armenian population and actively supports Armenia and Armenian-related issues.

Over the course of the meeting, the sides discussed opportunities for decentralized cooperation and partnerships in the form of sister cities between the two countries, which contribute to strengthening and developing ties at the community level.

President Khachaturyan emphasized the importance of such cooperation, noting that French and Armenian communities have the opportunity to effectively exchange best practices and carry out joint projects in socio-economic, educational, and cultural fields.

Luc Carvounas, in turn, stressed that Alfortville is ready to work closely with Armenian communities, supporting decentralized partnerships and the development of new initiatives within the framework of sister cities.

The meeting also touched upon the long-standing political and humanitarian support provided by France, for which the President expressed gratitude, emphasizing that the participation of international partners is essential for Armenia in addressing such issues.

The sides also highlighted the importance of parliamentary diplomacy between France and Armenia, which contributes to the deepening of bilateral relations and effective cooperation between the two countries on international platforms.
