Awards ceremony held at the residence of President on the occasion of the Independence Day

Based on the decrees of the President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan on the occasion of the Independence Day of Armenia, a group of individuals were awarded orders and medals, received titles and class ranks for their contribution and effective activities in the development of various spheres.

At the award ceremony held at the residence of the President of the Republic, President Vahagn Khachaturyan presented high state awards, then made a speech.

"I congratulate all of us on the Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia.

For all of us, independence is not a good idea or an end in itself, but a continuous movement, a struggle to create our destiny by our own will, for the independent determination of the form and character of our Homeland and state, the ultimate goal of which is a free, responsible, constantly developing and creative person and citizen.

Freedom is a state of mind and content for both a citizen and the state, а daily tireless work, care, the joy of dedication, the joy of victory and the pain of loss, and in the sum of all this the highest awareness of responsibility․

I also cordially congratulate those who received high state awards today. I would like to emphasize that awarding state awards is not only a ceremonial event, but has an important symbolic meaning. These awards are the minimum that the state gives you for your work, your service and your activities.

I am confident that for each of you doing what you love, the opportunity to improve at work is the greatest reward. It is the duty of the state and the government to appreciate this work, to encourage and of course to be inspired, which is also very important, because your dedication, your success is the success of all of us, and first of all, the success of our country. This is what unites us, because the success of our country is due to the work of a scientist, an artist, a teacher, a professional military official, a policeman, an agronomist and a builder․

Undoubtedly, in the independent, sovereign, free Republic of Armenia, the worthy will always be appreciated, the state will reward them, and also demand from all of us to be responsible, constantly educated and improved. This simple formula will guarantee the progress, empowerment and development of our country.

I once again congratulate all of us on the 33rd anniversary of our state, and wish good health, personal happiness and peace and prosperity to our country, the Republic of Armenia."
