President Vahagn Khachaturyan received the delegation of the Armenia-France Friendship Group of the French Senate

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received the delegation headed by Gilbert-Luc Devinaz, Chairman of the Armenia-France Friendship Group of the French Senate.

Welcoming the guests, President Vahagn Khachaturyan noted: "I am glad to host You. I would like to thank You for Your commitment to the Armenian-French relations, as well as for Your contribution to the establishment of friendly, unique relations between Armenia and France.
We highly appreciate Your activities, as well as the decisions that You have made, with which You have not only provided support, but also expressed a principled position regarding the events in the region and especially in Nagorno-Karabakh".

Expressing gratitude for the welcome, Senator Devinaz noted that the activities of the Armenia-France Friendship Group in the Senate are an additional incentive for the further development of relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, issues on the agenda of multi-layered cooperation between Armenia and France were discussed.

The sides highly appreciated the close cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries and the current level of development of parliamentary diplomacy.
The sides stressed the importance of constantly expanding cooperation between the two countries in all spheres, including from the point of view of local self-government bodies and decentralized development programs.

Over the course of the conversation, the general regional situation and current events around the signing of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan were touched upon. In this context, the President of the Republic confirmed the firm position of the Armenian side on the early achievement of stable and lasting peace in our region and the formation of good-neighborly relations with all neighbors.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on both Armenia-France bilateral relations and prospects for further development of cooperation within the framework of the European Union.
