Awards ceremony held at the residence of President

Based on the decrees of the President of the Republic, high state awards were awarded for significant contribution to the development of Armenian studies and long-term and fruitful activity.

President Vahagn Khachaturyan presented the medals of Movses Khorenatsi to Valentina Calzolari Bouvier, Professor of the Department of Armenian Studies at the University of Geneva, Christina Maranci, Professor of the Department of Armenian Studies at Harvard University, and the medal of gratitude to Michael Edward Stone, Professor emeritus, the founder of the Department of Armenian Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

The President congratulated the awardees and wished them new successes.

"It is a great honor for me and the representatives of the Armenian authorities to have the opportunity to express gratitude and appreciation to You in this way. I am convinced that we all highly appreciate the work that You have done and continue to do.

For us, especially today, this is invaluable, especially in the issue of preserving Armenian studies and the Armenian historical cultural heritage, because what we have in Artsakh is really under threat, and the work on digitization and preservation of our historical values, which we have now begun and will continue to carry out, is very important. Your participation in this matter is very important, because what we can tell about ourselves may not match the price of what You can represent.

In this regard, we are very grateful that You have come to participate in another Armenian studies event, which, I am sure, will also have an international resonance. Once again, I want to thank You and wish You new creative successes. We are indebted to You, we are with You as the Armenian authorities, as citizens of Armenia and as Armenians," the President said.
