President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received Ambassador of Austria to Armenia Thomas Mühlmann

On the occasion of the completion of the diplomatic mission, President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Austria to Armenia Thomas Mühlmann.

The President thanked the Ambassador for the activities carried out during his tenure and the efforts aimed at deepening bilateral relations.

"I would also like to express gratitude for the support that Austria has provided to Armenia, especially during a difficult period for us. We highly appreciate Austria's initiative in connection with the European observation mission. We must state that the European Observation Mission has made a great contribution to the settlement of the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. I am confident that this work will continue as long as it is necessary. We see the importance of this mission," the President of the Republic said.

Ambassador Thomas Mühlmann extended thanks for the reception and noted: "During my tenure, I have been trying not only to promote the development of our relations, but also to get to know Your country, and I have seen so much beauty and so much resilience in this country. Your country is in a rather difficult geographical position, but You, the government, and the population show so much resilience that it is very impressive."

Over the course of the meeting, a number of issues of bilateral interest were discussed. Reference was made to the developments in the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. In this context, the President of the Republic emphasized Armenia's principled position to establish orderly and neighborly relations with its neighbors.

During the conversation, topics related to the ways of strengthening and expanding trade and economic ties between Armenia and Austria were discussed. The importance of high-level mutual visits, as well as forming new ties in business circles was emphasized in terms of strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
