Today, on the eve of the National holiday of the Arab Republic of Egypt, President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador of Egypt to Armenia Serenade Gamil at his residence.
President Vahagn Khachaturyan congratulated the Ambassador and the friendly people of Egypt and asked her to convey his warm wishes to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. "I wish the people and the leadership of friendly Egypt success, new achievements, as well as peace, the price and significance of which Egypt, like us, knows very well. We all recognize and realize that it is difficult to implement programs and record progress without establishing lasting peace," the President of the Republic noted.
Ambassador Serenade Gamil expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and good wishes. "We highly appreciate and feel your respect and love for our country and our people. Warm relations have also developed between You and the President of our country. We are confident that all this is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations," the Ambassador of Egypt to Armenia said.
The interlocutors discussed issues related to bilateral cooperation in political, economic, scientific, high-tech, cultural and other spheres. The activation of business ties and the development of the tourism sector were emphasized on both sides, and the direct flights between Yerevan and Cairo was mentioned as an important factor contributing to this.
In strengthening bilateral ties, the interlocutors paid great attention to the intensification of mutual visits, the best proof of which is the official visits of the President of Egypt to Armenia at the beginning of last year and the visit of the Prime Minister of Armenia to Egypt this year.
During the meeting, the President of the Republic reaffirmed Armenia's political will to establish peace in the South Caucasus.
