President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received Ambassador of Canada to Armenia Andrew Turner.

President Vahagn Khachaturyan congratulated the Ambassador on the National holiday and asked to convey his warm wishes to Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, Governor General of Canada Mary Simon and the friendly people of Canada.

The President expressed confidence that several months ago, with the opening of the Canadian Embassy in Armenia, the deepening of bilateral relations and the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields were recorded.

"I am confident that Your activity in our country contributes not only to the further development of our relations, but also provides an opportunity to gain a real understanding of the events taking place here," the President said.

Vahagn Khachaturyan expressed gratitude for the support that Canada has provided to Armenia and stood by Armenia in a difficult period, expressing its solidarity. In this context, Canada's participation in the EU Observer mission was highlighted, which is a valuable contribution to strengthening security and peace in the region.

Ambassador Andrew Turner expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and good wishes. "We enjoy the attitude we have received since the opening of the Canadian Embassy in Armenia, with the visit of Foreign Minister Joly, in October. We are delighted that here on the ground, with the Embassy, we can work in the direction of deepening cooperation in various fields," the Ambassador said in particular.

Andrew Turner noted that Canada highly appreciates Armenia's ongoing efforts aimed at peace and stability in the region and will continue its assistance in this regard. He also expressed Canada's readiness to continue to support the Armenian leadership in steps aimed at strengthening democracy in the country.

The interlocutors exchanged views on stimulating and further deepening mutually beneficial Armenian-Canadian cooperation in various fields.
