President Vahagn Khachaturyan received Ambassador of Germany to Armenia Viktor Richter

In connection with the completion of the diplomatic mission, President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Armenia Viktor Richter.

The President thanked the Ambassador for the activities carried out during his tenure and the efforts aimed at deepening Armenian-German relations.

"Of course, I also hope that You will visit Armenia on occasion, and we will be glad to meet with You," President Khachaturyan said and wished Viktor Richter success in his future activities.

The President of the Republic noted that Armenia highly appreciates dynamically developing relations with Germany. "I am confident that this form of cooperation, which we have chosen, based on mutual trust, implementation of the agreements reached, will continue. I would like to emphasize that we are convinced that the Republic of Armenia cannot develop without democracy and democratic values," the President said.

The Ambassador expressed gratitude for the reception and kind words:
"The years of diplomatic service in Armenia were full of great and deep impressions, which I will fondly remember. I have also witnessed a greater growth in bilateral relations, which are already developing effectively between our two countries," the Ambassador said.

At the meeting, the sides exchanged views on both the current agenda of bilateral relations and issues of close cooperation within the framework of the European Union. Reference was made to efforts to achieve regional security and sustainable peace.

The sides noted that Armenia and Germany have great potential for deepening cooperation and can implement mutually beneficial programs in the economy, investments and other spheres.

Both sides highly appreciated the steps aimed at further development of interparliamentary diplomacy existing between the two countries.

During the conversation, the importance of continuing democratic reforms in Armenia was noted, in connection with which the Ambassador stressed Germany's readiness to continue to provide necessary assistance to the process of establishing democratic institutions in Armenia in the future.
