President Vahagn Khachaturyan hosted former French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan hosted former Prime Minister of France, President of "Leaders for Peace" organization Jean-Pierre Raffarin.

The President welcomed Jean-Pierre Raffarin's visit to Armenia.

"I attach great importance to Your visit to the Republic of Armenia, which is another evidence of the Armenian-French friendly relations. I would like to express our satisfaction with the Armenia-France relations and, in particular, emphasize the positive dynamics that has been observed in our relations over the past three years. The role of the French authorities and especially Emmanuel Macron in this case is greatly appreciated," President Khachaturyan said.

Jean-Pierre Raffarin thanked for the warm welcome.

"Thank you, Mr. President, for the honor you are bestowing on us. We highly appreciate the relations between Armenia and France as well. This is an issue that has full consensus in France. We may have internal problems, disagreements, discussions in our country, but there is a full consensus in France regarding support for Armenia and, in particular, efforts aimed at achieving peace," the former French Prime Minister said.

During the meeting, issues related to the steps and ways necessary to establish stable and lasting peace in the region were discussed. In this context, the President of the Republic provided details on Armenia's positions and principled approaches towards establishing good-neighborly and orderly relations with its neighbors.

The President also highly appreciated the activities of "Leaders for Peace" organization and expressed hope that the organization will effectively cooperate with Armenian partners, representatives of the educational sphere and HEI.
