President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan summed up the results of his visit to "Rusal Armenal", "Yerevan Jewelry Factory" and "Synopsys Armenia" with a briefing.
"I pay particular attention to the processing industry and the share of the processing industry in it. According to January-February, January-March, there was a 30 percent economic growth in that sector. The main driver of economic growth in that industry is jewelry and diamond production. It is also important to be interested in production capacity, regarding the conditions created in the economy to invest in specific production," the President noted.
Among other issues, the President also touched upon the process of demarcation of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Tavush.
"The processes that are taking place in Tavush between the villages of Voskepar, Baganis, Kirants and Berkaber are aimed at clarifying of the borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan for the first time. In the end, we must realize that if there is a state, the state must have borders, and the future of this state will depend on how adjusted the borders with neighbors are. Otherwise, there is always a danger, and this danger must be eliminated. We must not wait and eliminate this danger when it really already exists, but when it does not exist, it is in a passive state," the President said in particular.
The President noted that in many cases, the authorities are unable to provide details of the negotiation process to residents of villages located on the demarcation line, as this may interfere with the final decision.
"But I assure you that we are much more interested and responsible for the events that are taking place. And the most important thing for us is to keep safe the people who live in these villages," Vahagn Khachaturyan said.
"In the past, unfortunately, we left problems for the future and even publicly stated it several times. There was a well-known thesis when it came to Karabakh unresolved problem: "We can live like this for another 100 years." We saw that we cannot live that way for 100 years, because times and situations change, and what can be done today, we will not be able to do tomorrow. You need to be able to eliminate the dangers in time. Now the time has come, and we will go in this direction," the President said, urging citizens to trust the steps taken by the authorities and not to succumb to provocations, which in many cases are aimed at playing on their feelings and do not correspond to reality.
