President Vahagn Khachaturyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Syria Nora Arisyan
On the occasion of the Independence Day of the Syrian Arab Republic, President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Syria Nora Arisyan.
Welcoming the guest, the President said: "I am pleased to send my warm congratulations to you and the friendly people of Syria on the occasion of Independence Day. Please, convey my congratulations and best wishes also to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Armenia and Syria have deep political, historical, cultural and interpersonal ties to each other. We highly appreciate the centuries-old Armenian-Syrian friendly relations and attach great importance to the development of cooperation in various fields."
Expressing gratitude for the kind words and good wishes, Ambassador Nora Arisyan noted that she invests all her resources in the continuous development of multilateral cooperation between Armenia and Syria.
During the meeting, the Ambassador presented to the President a number of programs and initiatives related to the broad agenda of cooperation between the two countries in the economy, culture, education and other fields.
The sides reaffirmed their commitment to realizing possible steps in an atmosphere of full mutual understanding and cooperation existing between Armenia and Syria in all spheres.
Over the course of the conversation, Ambassador Arisyan, on behalf of the Syrian authorities, extended thanks to the Armenian leadership for the humanitarian and diverse support provided to Syria over the years.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on the regional situation and developments, and in this context, both sides stressed the imperative for establishing a comprehensive and lasting peace, which is an important prerequisite for the development of all countries in the region.
