President Vahagn Khachaturyan received Ambassador of Japan to Armenia Aoki Yutaka

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Armenia Aoki Yutaka.

Welcoming the Ambassador, the President congratulated him on the national holiday of Japan-the Emperor's birthday and wished the friendly people of Japan success and prosperity.

Ambassador Yutaka thanked for the reception and good wishes.

At the meeting the sides discussed the possibilities of further expanding the close cooperation between Armenia and Japan and the implementation of joint programs.

The prospects of intensifying cooperation and applying advanced Japanese experience in political, economic, high-tech, disaster management and other areas were touched upon.

The sides stressed the importance of constant stimulation of high-level political dialogue, mutual visits and the development of parliamentary diplomacy.

During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on the importance and strengthening regional peace, as well as democratic institutions.

In this context, President Khachaturyan expressed gratitude to the Government and authorities of Japan for Japan's clear position in establishment of peace in the region and resolving problems through negotiations, as well as for the humanitarian assistance provided to internally displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh.
