President Vahagn Khachaturyan received Ambassador of Iran to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani
President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani.
Welcoming the Ambassador, the President congratulated him and the people of friend Iran on the occasion of the 45th Anniversary of the Victory of the Islamic Revolution.
"I am confident that the special relations between our two countries will be further strengthened and open up new horizons in the future. I would like to point out that since the first days of independence, we have established warm relations, and the principles adopted in these relations we have been keeping so far. Be sure that we will be guided by the same spirit and the same ideas in the future," President Khachaturyan said.
The President stressed the importance of intensifying mutual visits between various circles of the two countries and identifying mutual opportunities, especially in economic field.
Vahagn Khachaturyan emphasized that Armenia highly appreciates the clear position of the Iranian leadership regarding the territorial integrity and inviolability of our country's borders.
Ambassador Mehdi Sobhani thanked for the reception and warm congratulations. “Pleased to be here today. I think this meeting today is an expression of the respect you feel for the Government and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran," the Ambassador said.
Issues on the agenda of the multisectoral cooperation between the two countries were touched upon at the meeting. The sides noted with satisfaction the achievements recorded during the implementation of a number of Armenian-Iranian joint programs launched during the past year.
During the conversation, the effective cooperation between Iran and Armenia on international platforms was touched upon, and the importance of continuing steps aimed at strengthening the centuries-old Armenian-Iranian economic and cultural ties was noted. The importance of further developing the existing cooperation between the business circles of the two countries and stimulating efforts aimed at expanding the partnership was also stressed.
