The newly appointed Ambassador of Japan to Armenia Aoki Yutaka presented his credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Armenia Aoki Yutaka presented his credentials to the President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan.

Greeting the Ambassador, the President congratulated him on his appointment and wished him success during his diplomatic mission.

In his speech, the President of the Republic noted: "I am confident your personal activities and efforts will contribute to the further strengthening of the friendship between Armenia and Japan.

Since the establishment, diplomatic relations between our countries have become special, they have been sincere, friendly indeed, and we have had effective political, economic and cultural cooperation in all spheres.

All those programs that were implemented in Armenia with the support of the Japanese Government were important for the development of the Armenian economy, and I am sure that they will also have their continuation.

We also appreciate Japan's role both in the world and in our region, aimed at peace consolidation and strengthening democratic values."

The newly appointed Ambassador, expressing gratitude for the warm hospitality and words of appreciation, said: "Even before coming to Armenia and already being here, I noticed how many people want relations between our countries to develop even more.
Everyone says we have a lot in common and a lot of shared values. I will spare no effort to strengthen friendship and cooperation between our countries."

During the meeting, issues related to the prospects and directions of development of multifaceted cooperation between Armenia and Japan were discussed. In particular, the great potential for cooperation in the fields of high technology and information technology and the importance of taking more active measures aimed at the full implementation of the mentioned were emphasized.

During the conversation, the possibilities of stimulating political dialogue between the two countries were touched upon, in this context, the need for mutual visits at a high political level, as well as constant stimulation of parliamentary diplomacy, was emphasized.

In his speech, President Vahagn Khachaturyan noted that political mutual visits at different levels, as well as active diplomatic, cultural contacts and sectoral cooperation contribute to the bringing the two nations closer to each other and strengthening the existing interaction between the countries.

Touching upon the ongoing strengthening of Armenian-Japanese ties, Ambassador Yutaka noted that in recent years Japan has been more interested in Armenia, in particular, because of the progress along the path of democracy and democratic reforms.

In this context, both sides stressed the importance and role of democratic reforms and the establishment of democratic institutions in the further development of the country.
