President Vahagn Khachaturyan attends the event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the National Academy of Sciences

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan attended the ceremonial session dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia.

Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, deputies of the National Assembly, other officials, scientific community of Armenia, as well as delegations from various countries were among the attendees of the anniversary event.

The President of the National Academy of Sciences, Ashot Saghyan, delivered a report presenting the fruitful journey of the academy and the future plans. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan delivered a speech next.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences, a group of representatives of the scientific community of Armenia were awarded a commemorative medal for their contribution to the development of education and science.

The 2020 ceremony of awarding the international scientific award named after academician Victor Hambardzumyan was also held. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan handed over the awards to professors Alexander Salai, Isabelle Baraffe and Adam Burrows.
