President Vahagn Khachaturyan receives the Ambassador of Greece to Armenia Evangelos Tournakis
President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Greece to Armenia Evangelos Tournakis who is completing his diplomatic mission in our country.
Welcoming the guest, the President noted, "I wish to thank you for your work. I highly appreciate the work done by you and the Embassy. Historically, Armenia has very warm relations with Greece, and throughout that history we were able to know each other well. I especially wish to thank you for the support and humanism that we always receive from your country. Friends should stand by each other during trials and we appreciate that."
The Ambassador expressed gratitude for the reception and the friendly attitude. "During these four years of my tenure, I have always sensed your friendly and kind attitude," he noted.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to the consistent development of close relations between the two countries. Both sides highly valued effective cooperation between Armenia and Greece in political, economic, military education and other fields, as well as efforts aimed at promoting the existing high-level political dialogue. The importance of mutually beneficial cooperation both bilaterally and within the framework of the European Union was emphasized.
During the discussion, ideas were exchanged on regional realities and developments. In his speech, President Vahagn Khachaturyan noted that Armenia is firm in its commitment to establishing sustainable and lasting peace and normalizing relations with its neighbors.
