Ambassador of Korea to Armenia Lee Do-hoon presented his credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan

Lee Do-hoon, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Armenia (residence: Moscow), presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan. President Khachaturyan congratulated the newly-appointed Ambassador, expressing hope that his designation will serve to further strengthen and develop friendly and cooperative ties between the two countries and peoples.

"Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Korea in 1992, we have always attached them great importance," the President noted. Korea has always been a unique country for me as an economist in terms of the extent of success achieved within such a short time since the 1970s. Without mineral resources, but with hardworking people, your country managed to overcome a difficult situation and become one of the developed countries of the world. For us, this is one of the best examples."

Ambassador Lee Do-hoon, in turn, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and kind words. "Before my departure, the President of my country asked to pass on his warmest regards and best wishes to you, and expressed his wish to further strengthen our bilateral relations," the Ambassador noted.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to the development of cooperation between Armenia and Korea. In particular, both sides highlighted more active cooperation in the high-tech sector. The President welcomed the intention of the government of the Republic of Korea to deploy a permanent diplomatic mission in Armenia and underscored that it will be a new impetus for strengthening the cooperation between the two countries in political, economic and other fields.

During the discussion, ideas were exchanged on the overall situation and existing challenges in the region. In this regards, President Vahagn Khachaturyan emphasized that the establishment of sustainable and lasting peace, as well as the promotion of the "crossroads of peace" project can become an essential basis for the further development of the countries in the region.
