President Vahagn Khachaturyan receives Ambassador of Japan to Armenia Masanori Fukushima
President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Armenia, Masanori Fukushima, whose diplomatic mission in our country comes to an end.
The President thanked the Ambassador for his work and highly appreciated his personal contribution to the development of bilateral relations between our countries and our peoples.
"Through your activity, you once again highlighted for us both the role of Japan and, of course, Japan's friendly attitude towards Armenia. You did it in a very outstanding manner, introducing yourself to our society in your unique style. Thank you for all that," President Khachaturyan noted.
Masanori Fukushima expressed his gratitude for the kind reception. "Armenia is a very important partner for Japan to enhance free, open and international regime based on the rule of law. I am sure that Armenia is one of the democratic countries, which is now becoming more democratic," the Ambassador noted.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the consistent development and enhancement of cooperation between Armenia and Japan.
During the discussion, ideas were exchanged on the overall realities and existing challenges in the South Caucasus region. The interlocutors touched upon the humanitarian and socio-economic issues caused by the forced displacement of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh, and the work aimed at addressing them.
