President Vahagn Khachaturyan receives Secretary General of the International Organization of La Francophonie Louise Mushikiwabo

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received the delegation headed by Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary General of the International Organization of La Francophonie.

The President welcomed the guests and noted that Armenia has always valued close relations with the International Organization of La Francophonie and francophone countries.

"You are always a welcome guest in the Republic of Armenia, and I also welcome the members of your representative delegation. I am confident that you are well aware of the events taking place in our region and we are grateful for the support that the francophone countries are providing us in these difficult times," the President noted.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, Louise Mushikiwabo noted that they wish to demonstrate the support of francophone countries to Armenia, and for this purpose, the delegation includes the partners of the International Organization.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to the further development of relations and cooperation with Armenia and the International Organization of La Francophonie and the Organization's member states. In the course of the discussion, the interlocutors touched upon the overall realities in the region and the protection of the rights of forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh in addition to the humanitarian issues. In this context, President Khachaturyan underscored Armenia's determination to establish lasting peace in the South Caucasus region and normalize the relations with its neighbors.
