President Vahagn Khachaturyan receives Victor Richter, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Armenia
President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received Victor Richter, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Armenia, on the occasion of the national holiday of Germany, Unity Day.
Congratulating the guest and extending his best wishes to the friendly people and leadership of Germany, the President highlighted that friendly relations between Germany and Armenia have been developing dynamically over the past 30 years.
"We sensed the support of Germany immediately after the independence and today we have friendly relations. I am confident that our cooperation will continue to grow closer and cover new areas," President Khachaturyan noted.
The Ambassador expressed gratitude for the reception and kind wishes and underscored that Germany is committed to supporting democratic reforms in Armenia, as well as its commitment to establishing peace.
During the meeting, the sides discussed a wide range of areas of further development of Armenian-German partnership. The interlocutors touched upon the future opportunities and prospects of the high-level political dialogue between the two countries.
Ideas were exchanged regarding the protection of the rights of forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh and the issues related to humanitarian assistance. Both sides emphasized the importance of establishing sustainable peace in the region. In this context, the President highlighted Armenia's determination in promoting the agenda of regional peace.
Ambassador Richter emphasized Germany's readiness to support the implementation of democratic reforms in Armenia and the process of achieving lasting peace in the South Caucasus region to the best of its ability.
