President Vahagn Khachaturyan received the former Prime Minister of Italy Romano Prodi

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received the former Prime Minister of Italy, the former President of the European Commission Romano Prodi at the residence of the President.

The President welcomed the guest and noted that he was happy to host the experienced politician and scientist.

"You are a figure whom any official, any leader would be privileged to meet and I am convinced that your expertise will be beneficial for any government official, especially in the light of the rapid changes in the world," Vahagn Khachaturyan noted.

Romano Prodi expressed his gratitude for the reception and kind words and emphasized that he arrived in Armenia with great joy.

At the meeting, the sides discussed a wide range of theoretical issues related to the present transformations and main tendencies in the development of the global economy.

During the discussion, the interlocutors touched upon the interrelations between economic models and democratic institutions of different countries. Ideas were also exchanged on the overall developments in our region and global economic and political changes among other issues.
