President Vahagn Khachaturyan received Ambassador of Egypt Serenade Gamil
Today, President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador of Egypt to Armenia Serenade Gamil.
In his welcome remarks, President Khachaturyan congratulated the Ambassador and, in her person, the friendly people of Egypt on the upcoming national holiday, Revolution Day, and wished consistent development and prosperity.
"Please convey my warm greetings and best wishes to the honorable President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi," the President noted and expressed his wish that the leadership of the two countries do their best to further strengthen and develop the long-standing Armenian-Egyptian friendship.
Ambassador Serenade Gamil expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and congratulations. "This is really a great privilege for us which we highly appreciate and value. During our President's visit to Armenia, we sensed the profoundness of the historical relations that exist between the peoples of our two countries, as well as at the political level and high-ranking officials. At the same time, we are very proud of the great attention and care given to the deepening of Armenian-Egyptian relations. We thank you for the attention that you personally pay to these relations. Thank you for the congratulatory message and greetings to our President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi."
During the meeting, the sides discussed a wide range of issues aimed at the further promotion of cooperation in the fields of bilateral interest. Both sides emphasized the continuous development of the high-level political dialogue between Armenia and Egypt.
The positive impact of mutual visits on the emergence of new interests and closer ties in the economic sphere and business environment of the two countries was highlighted. During the discussion, ideas were exchanged regarding the possibilities and prospects of Yerevan-Cairo direct flights. Both sides underscored holding the session of the Armenian-Egyptian Intergovernmental Commission scheduled for the fall which will contribute to the enrichment of the joint Armenian-Egyptian agenda.
Emphasis was placed on the promotion of efforts aimed at the full exercise of the existing potential of effective cooperation between Armenia and Egypt in economic, high-tech, renewable energy, health and other fields.
