Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Armenia Naser Mohamed Yusuf Al Balooshi presented his credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Armenia Naser Mohamed Yusuf Al Balooshi (residence: Rome) presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan.

President Vahagn Khachaturyan congratulated the Ambassador on assuming the office and wished him success in fulfilling his responsible mission.

"I am confident that you will use your many years of experience for the benefit of the development of relations between our two countries. We established diplomatic relations back in 1996 and have been friendly countries since then. During these years of our cooperation, working together, we have tried to cooperate, as well as use all the opportunities to establish peace in the region through expressing joint views on various regional issues," the President noted.

Ambassador Naser Muhammad Yusuf Al Balooshi expressed gratitude for the reception and noted, "I believe that a state like the Republic of Armenia has great potential and strong factors on the basis of which it is possible to build and develop effective cooperation in economic, cultural, investment and other spheres."

During the meeting, the sides discussed the possibilities and existing potential of cooperation in the areas of common interest for both countries in trade, agriculture, and culture among others. In this regard, the President emphasized that the consistent reforms in the economic life of Armenia over the recent years have produced significant results making the investment environment in our country attractive for both local and foreign investors. On this account, the President noted that one of the priorities of the current Government's economic policy is to ensure appropriate and safe conditions for foreign investments in Armenia.

During the discussion, both sides attached importance to the promotion of high-level political dialogue and efforts aimed at organizing high-level mutual visits, as well as the close cooperation between the two countries on international platforms.

The President informed the newly appointed Ambassador about regional developments and the essence of the Karabakh conflict. In this regard, the President drew the attention of the newly appointed Ambassador to the manifestations of anti-Armenian propaganda carried out by Azerbaijan aiming to distort the essence of the conflict.

President Vahagn Khachaturyan also touched upon the risks posed by the humanitarian crisis caused by Azerbaijan's blockade of the Lachin corridor.

During the meeting, ideas were exchanged on the activities carried out for direct flights between Bahrain and Armenia and their results. Both sides placed an emphasis on carrying out such flights which will be an additional impetus for the development of bilateral multi-level relations.

Toward the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue effective working contacts.
