Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Armenia Piotr Skwieciński presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan.
President Vahagn Khachaturyan congratulated the newly appointed Ambassador on assuming the office and wished him success in fulfilling his responsible mission.
"Relations with Poland are paramount for the Republic of Armenia. Presently Poland has a trusted and key role for Armenia in EU-Armenia relations.
Within the framework of the Eastern Partnership, we have always sensed the support of Poland, and the cooperation with the European Union is also due to Poland's principled stance. I am confident that our cooperation will continue in this manner. I am confident that you will contribute to it through your work. It is important to state once again that since the independence, the relations between Armenia and Poland have undergone a dynamic development and especially in the last five years they became more pronounced. In particular, inter-parliamentary diplomacy has gained new momentum.
I was pleased to learn that another Armenian-Polish intergovernmental meeting will take place tomorrow. Rest assured that this will be another impetus for expanding economic cooperation between our two countries. Once again, I congratulate you and wish you success," the President noted.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, Ambassador Skwieciński noted that during his diplomatic service, he will spare no efforts for further development of the friendly relations between Armenia and Poland.
"Dear Mr. President, thank you for everything. Of course, I especially want to thank you for the opportunity to present my credentials to you so promptly.
All of this is noteworthy especially given the fact that, as you mentioned, the meeting of the Armenian-Polish Intergovernmental Commission will take place tomorrow and it is essential that I can attend the meeting already as an Ambassador. I wish to thank the Armenian side and you personally, Mr. President, for the effort to make this all possible."
During the meeting, the sides discussed a wide range of issues related to the consistent development of existing close relations between Armenia and Poland in political, economic and other spheres.
The sides specifically emphasized the effective cooperation of the two countries on the platforms of the European Union and the Eastern Partnership. Importance was attached to the existing high level parliamentary diplomacy between the legislative bodies of Armenia and Poland and its further enhancement as well as mutual high-level visits.
Ambassador Piotr Skwieciński noted in his speech that Poland is impressed by the democratic reforms carried out in Armenia in recent years attesting to the democratic values and Armenia's steadfast position towards establishing democratic institutions. The Ambassador emphasized that Poland is in full support of Armenia in establishing the rule of democratic values and further enhancing the relations with the European Union.
