President Vahagn Khachaturyan receives the representatives of the Special Olympics Armenia Organization

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Director of Special Olympics Armenian NGO Artak Stepanyan and the coaches and athletes of the Organization.

The Organization is the representative of the world's largest sports organization for children and adults with mental disabilities, Special Olympics, in Armenia.

The Organization's mission is to conduct year-round training and competitions in Olympic sports for people with special mental education needs and integrate them into society.

At the Summer Olympic Games held in Dubai in 2019, two athletes of the Special Olympics Armenia NGO won gold medals in swimming and athletics.

Special Olympics Armenian NGO will participate with 4 athletes in the Special Olympics World Games to be held in Berlin, Germany, on June 17-25.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the existing challenges of applying the principles of inclusiveness in sports and pathways to address them.

President Khachaturyan emphasized his readiness to support the Organization's important activities to the best of his ability.
