President Vahagn Khachaturyan receives Ambassador of Italy Alfonso Di Riso

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Italy Alfonso Di Riso on the occasion of the Republic Day.

In his welcome remarks, the President congratulated the guest on the holiday and wished success to the people and leadership of Italy.

During the discussion, the sides discussed the issues on the agenda for further development of cooperation between Armenia and Italy. They also touched upon the possibilities of promoting Armenian-Italian trade and economic ties. In this regard both sides positively evaluated the significant increase in the turnover of goods between the two countries as well as direct flights to Italy.

Importance was attached to Armenian-Italian cooperation in implementing the anti-corruption policy, in particular, the application of Italian best practices in judicial and legal reforms.

During the meeting, ideas were exchanged regarding regional realities. The President of the Republic of Armenia emphasized that Armenia is committed to its position of establishing good relations with its neighbors and establishing sustainable and durable peace in the South Caucasus region.
