President Vahagn Khachaturyan received Guillermo Chantada, President of the International Society of Pediatric Oncology

The President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received the delegation headed by Guillermo Chantada, the President of the International Society of Pediatric Oncology that arrived in Armenia within the framework of the SIOP Asia 2023 XV Congress.

For the first time, Armenia has hosted the congress which aims to bring together the global pediatric oncology community to present their research, insights and best practices in childhood cancer treatment worldwide.

President Khachaturyan welcomed the participants of the congress in our country and highlighted the importance of holding such events that provide an opportunity to discuss issues in depth and develop a joint policy. The President also noted that Armenia pays special attention to the healthcare sector.

"We attach great importance to the fact that the 15th Asian Congress of the International Society of Pediatric Oncology is being held in Armenia. I am convinced that you will try to find new solutions during the three days of the congress. Coordinated work is also being carried out by our professionals, and the main goal of all of us is that no child is left out and has the opportunity to receive proper medical care. I am hopeful that your cooperation will be sustained," noted President Khachaturyan.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, Guillermo Chantada noted that he was very impressed by his first visit to Armenia. "Our Society unites around 3,000 professionals from all over the world. We are very proud of the work that is being done in Asia as well as in Armenia. It is truly exemplary. We are delighted to be here," noted the President of the International Society of Pediatric Oncology.
