The newly appointed Ambassador of Hungary to Armenia Anna Maria Shiko presented her credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Armenia H.E Anna Maria Shiko (residence in Tbilisi) presented her credentials to the President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan.
President Khachaturyan congratulated Anna Maria Shiko on her appointment to the post of Ambassador of Hungary to Armenia after a long break in diplomatic service.
"We attach high importance to your appointment. Armenia and Hungary, as centuries-old friendly countries, will continue their cooperation, and we will do everything in our capacity to make our bilateral relations thrive. I believe that you will bring your personal contribution to the development of our relations," the President noted.
Expressing her gratitude for the reception, Ambassador Anna Maria Shiko noted: "We have waited for this moment quite a long time and presently we have the result. We worked diligently, and first of all I wish to thank all those working in Hungary and also in Armenia who made this possible."
During the meeting, the sides touched upon the prospects of economic cooperation between Armenia and Hungary and the full exercise of the existing potential. Promotion of cooperation and implementation of joint projects in the fields of education, tourism and culture was highlighted by both sides.
During the discussion, the sides emphasized the importance of active cooperation within international organizations, particularly on the platform of the European Union, and exchange of best practices for the establishment of democratic institutions.
